Expert Hip Pain Treatment and Rehabilitation at Physiovista

Hip Clinic

Hip pain can steal the simplest pleasures: walking to the market, climbing stairs, sitting cross-legged, turning in bed or playing with your children. Because the hip carries your body weight with every step, pain here quickly affects your mobility, mood and independence.

The Hip Clinic at Physiovista Healthcare Network offers specialist physiotherapy for hip pain at every stage, from early arthritis and sports injuries to complete recovery after hip replacement. We identify the cause of your pain and guide you to stronger, steadier movement.

About Our Hip Clinic

The hip is a deep ball-and-socket joint surrounded by powerful muscles. It works closely with the lower back, pelvis and knee, so pain felt in the hip can start in the spine or sacroiliac joint, and hip problems can in turn cause back and knee pain. Careful assessment is therefore essential.

At our hip clinic, we examine hip joint movement, muscle strength, pelvic control, walking pattern and the lower back. Treatment is non-surgical and function-focused, combining manual therapy, strengthening, balance training and technology. If surgery such as hip replacement is likely, we offer pre-habilitation to improve your outcome and a structured rehabilitation plan afterwards.

Our Rehab Process

Every hip patient at Physiovista follows a structured, step-by-step pathway.

01

Complete Assessment

We assess hip range of movement, muscle strength, pelvic stability, gait and your lower back, and review any X-ray, MRI or surgical notes.
02

Diagnosis and Clear Goals

You receive a straightforward explanation and goals such as walking 30 minutes pain-free, sitting comfortably or returning to sport.
03

Easing Pain and Stiffness

We use hands-on mobilisation, soft tissue techniques, electrotherapy and advice on activity pacing to settle symptoms.
04

Restoring Mobility

Gentle stretching, joint mobilisation and guided movement programmes restore the hip's natural range.
05

Strengthening the Hip and Core

Strong gluteal, thigh and trunk muscles protect the joint. We build these with progressive, joint-friendly exercises.
06

Balance, Gait and Functional Training

We correct walking patterns, train balance and practise real-life tasks such as stairs, car transfers and squatting.
07

Long-Term Joint Health

We provide a home programme, weight-management and activity advice, and a plan to keep the hip strong for years.

Technologies We Use

Alongside skilled hands-on care, we use modern physiotherapy technologies to support recovery.

Therapeutic Ultrasound: reduces pain and promotes healing in deep tissues
Shockwave Therapy: effective for gluteal tendinopathy and trochanteric pain
Laser Therapy: reduces inflammation and joint pain
TENS and IFT: pain relief during flare-ups
Hydrotherapy-Style Gait and Underwater Treadmill Options (where available): low-impact loading
Anti-Gravity and Body-Weight Support Systems: early walking after surgery
Gait Analysis: identifies walking faults objectively
Balance Platforms and Proprioceptive Trainers: improve stability and fall prevention
Resistance Machines and Elastic Bands: graded strengthening

What to Expect at Your First Hip Visit

Your first session takes around 45 to 60 minutes. We ask about your pain, walking distance and daily limits, watch you walk and move, test hip strength and range, and check your back and pelvis. Wear comfortable shorts if possible and bring your scans, reports or surgical notes.

Self-care tips: stay active within comfort, avoid sitting for very long periods, use a firm chair that is not too low, sleep with a pillow between the knees if lying on your side, and keep your weight in a healthy range, since every kilogram lost reduces the load on your hips.
