Stroke, Brain and Spinal Cord Injury Recovery at Physiovista

Neuro Rehabilitation

A neurological condition changes more than the body. It changes routines, independence, confidence and family life. Whether it follows a stroke, an accident or a long-term illness, recovery depends greatly on how early rehabilitation begins, how intense it is and how well it is matched to the person.

Neuro Rehabilitation at Physiovista Healthcare Network provides specialist, goal-based physiotherapy for adults and children with disorders of the brain, spinal cord and nerves. Our team helps patients regain movement, balance, strength and independence, and supports families every step of the way.

About Our Neuro Rehabilitation Service

The nervous system can adapt after injury through neuroplasticity, the brain's ability to form new connections. Rehabilitation uses this by providing repeated, meaningful, challenging practice of movement and function. The more specific and intensive the practice, the better the chance of recovery.

At Physiovista, neuro rehabilitation begins with a detailed assessment of movement, muscle tone, sensation, balance, coordination, walking, speech-related and cognitive needs, and daily activities. Together with you and your family we set practical goals, such as standing from a chair, walking to the bathroom, using the affected hand or returning to work. Treatment combines neurophysiotherapy, task-based training, technology and caregiver training. When other specialists are needed, such as speech therapists, occupational therapists or neurologists, we coordinate with them.

Our service is suited to you or your loved one if there is:

Weakness or paralysis on one side or in the legs
Difficulty walking, balance problems or frequent falls
Stiffness, spasticity or involuntary movements
Loss of sensation or poor coordination
Slowness of movement, tremor or freezing
Recent hospital discharge after a neurological event

Structured, Step-by-Step Pathway

Our Rehab Process

Every neurological patient at Physiovista follows a structured, step-by-step pathway.

01

Comprehensive Neurological Assessment

We evaluate strength, tone, sensation, reflexes, balance, coordination, gait and the ability to carry out daily tasks. We review your reports and medical history.
02

Goal Setting With You and Your Family

Goals are specific, measurable and meaningful. Recovery is a team effort, and your priorities guide our plan.
03

Early Mobilisation and Positioning

Starting early prevents stiffness, pressure sores and loss of fitness. We teach safe positioning, transfers and handling to family caregivers.
04

Movement Re-education

We use task-oriented training, such as sit-to-stand, reaching, stepping and walking practice, to retrain the brain and body. Techniques may include Bobath-informed handling, constraint-induced movement therapy, mirror therapy and motor relearning.
05

Balance, Gait and Strength Training

Treadmill training, balance platforms and strengthening improve safe walking and reduce the risk of falls.
06

Spasticity and Tone Management

Stretching, positioning, splinting and, where appropriate, coordination with your doctor for medication or injections help control tightness.
07

Return to Daily Life

We train you in everyday activities, recommend walking aids, home modifications and community reintegration, and provide a long-term home programme.

Technologies We Use

Alongside skilled hands-on care, we use advanced neuro-technology and rehabilitation equipment to accelerate recovery.

Body-Weight-Supported Treadmill Training: early, safe gait practice
Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES): activates weak muscles during movement
Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation: muscle re-education
Robotic-Assisted Therapy (where available): high-repetition arm and leg training
Mirror Therapy and Virtual Reality-Based Training: engaging motor relearning
Balance Platforms and Biofeedback: improve stability and posture control
Parallel Bars, Tilt Table and Standing Frames: early weight-bearing
Hand Therapy Tools and Constraint-Induced Therapy Kits: arm and hand recovery
Orthoses and Splints: support alignment and function

What to Expect at Your First Neuro Rehabilitation Visit

The first assessment is longer, usually about an hour, and family members are welcome to attend. We review your medical reports, discuss your difficulties and goals and test movement, tone, balance and walking. Please bring discharge summaries, scan reports, medication lists and any walking aids or splints you use.

Between sessions: regular practice matters most. Short, frequent sessions of the home exercises, safe positioning, a fall-proof home and encouraging independence in daily tasks all help recovery. Celebrate small gains, since progress in neurological recovery often comes in steps.
